‘El Camino de Santiago’ in aid of the Community Chest Fund

We would like to congratulate our colleague Antoine Scerri who formed part of the ‘El Camino de Santiago’ in aid of the Community Chest Fund.

The walk to the great Gothic Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. It is a tradition dating back to Medieval times which has regained immense popularity over the last twenty years.

The 115 km Camino (walk) from the town of Sarria to Santiago is a compelling social, spiritual, historical experience, where the struggle is balanced by the wonderful natural and cultural vistas, as well as the delicious food and wine of the area. For this reason the Camino attracts walkers from all over the world, from the ages of 6 to 80. While it is certainly not an easy trek, the Camino de Santiago is probably the only popular footpath in the world where women equal roughly half the participants.

The group was led by Mario Scerri of ‘Experience, Adventures & More’ who has successfully led many similar trips.

Elmo Insurance Ltd organised a series of fund raising activities and a substantial amount of money was collected by the staff together with a generous contribution by the management.

Well done Antoine Scerri!
