IT Systems Administrator

At Elmo Insurance, we rely on our IT systems to help our business reach and succeed with clients. We’re seeking an IT Systems Administrator who is eager to use and grow his or her technological knowledge.

Objectives of this role

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems.
  • Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running.
  • Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Perform server administration tasks, including user / group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
  • Monitor data center health using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed.
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
  • Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Perform routine / scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups.

 

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Work experience in IT.
  • Relevant professional certifications.
  • Experience with or knowledge of operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools (Zabbix and Grafana), active directory technology, virtualization, networking, and web server technology.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Unix Server system administration, VMware, and Veeam.
  • Microsoft 365.

Health Insurance Officer

We’re seeking to recruit a full-time Health Insurance Officer to join our existing team. The ideal candidate for this role will be required to perform the following main duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Greeting, assisting clients and handling any of their queries.
  • Assess and settle health insurance claims.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks.
  • Maintain updated and accurate records.
  • Provide an excellent level of customer service.

 

Skills and qualifications:

 

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience in the insurance sector.
  • Have an insurance-related qualification (or part qualification).
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Maltese and English.
  • Be organised and meticulous in their work.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office applications.

Maintenance Person

We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance person to join our team and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities. In this role, you will be supporting our Facilities Supervisor in ensuring the safety, functionality, and upkeep of our offices. Your responsibilities will include a range of maintenance tasks, from basic electrical and plumbing works to general facility maintenance.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform various maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, installation of light bulbs, doors, cabinets, panelling, tiles, and painting when necessary.
  • Assembling/dismantling and repositioning office furniture.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as required.
  • Report any safety concerns or potential damage to the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Coordinate and assist in special projects as directed by superior.
  • Monitor work performed by outside contractors and ensure quality standards.
  • Run errands as necessary.

 

Skills and Requirements

  • A valid driving license.
  • Be organised, practical and trustworthy.
  • Capable of working efficiently and with minimal supervision.
  • Have a strong commitment to quality and workplace safety.
  • Proficiency in English and Maltese language will be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, any relevant certifications and familiarity with the use of power tools will be considered an asset.

Personal Lines Underwriting Officer

The company is expanding its operations to meet the demands of its growing product lines and customer base. As a result, we are looking for a Personal Lines Underwriting Officer to join our Personal Lines Underwriting Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with customers (face-to-face, via email, and over the phone).
  • Responding to queries and explaining products and services to clients.
  • General office duties.
  • Obtaining, handling, and processing of customer documentation.
  • Issuing of Home, Travel, Personal Accident, Marine Hull and Marine Cargo quotations, policies, and renewals.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Preferably, a related insurance qualification (or part qualification).
  • Previous experience within the local insurance industry.

 

Skills:

  • Sense of responsibility, accountability, and ownership.
  • Ability to handle various customer types.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Maltese.
