IT Systems Administrator

At Elmo Insurance, we rely on our IT systems to help our business reach and succeed with clients. We’re seeking an IT Systems Administrator who is eager to use and grow his or her technological knowledge.

Objectives of this Role

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems.
  • Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running.
  • Liasing with 3rd Party Suppliers to provide problem resolution and improvements.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage user account creation and termination.
  • Install new server hardware and software per standardized documentation.
  • Document tasks performed.
  • Supporting the Company’s communications assets, such as Telephony and Mobile devices.
  • Configures, and troubleshoots desktop application deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot desktop environmental issues.
  • Conduct day-to-day system administration.
  • Support Desktop software i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel etc;
  • Maintain a constant level of support to all offices.
  • Responsible for the IT Inventory management and to maintain adequate stock of consumables.
  • Troubleshoot networks.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Remote access technologies.
  • Backup/business continuity solutions.
  • Technology exam and certification completion such as M365 and Azure and LPIC would be considered as an asset.
  • Ability to perform basic Windows network administration (DNS, WINS, DHCP);
  • Ability to document tasks performed & comply with established technical and security procedures.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory Group Concepts and Policies;
  • Basic level of network troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Experienced providing Help Desk Support/IT Support.
  • Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Maintains and administer applications, operating systems, and hardware related to Linux Workstation/Servers based operating systems.

Motor
Motor Underwriting Officer

The company is expanding its operations to meet the demands of its growing product lines and customer base. As a result, we are looking for a Motor Underwriting Officer to join our Motor Underwriting Department, operating from both its Head Office and various Branches.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Dealing with customers (face-to-face, via email, and over the phone).
  • Responding to queries and explaining products and services to clients.
  • Obtaining, handling, and processing of customer documentation.
  • Issuing of motor quotations, policies, and renewals.
  • General office duties.
  • Branch support.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in the local insurance industry.
  • Possession of an insurance-related qualification or currently pursuing a related certification considered an asset.

 

Skills:

  • Sense of responsibility, accountability, and ownership.
  • Ability to handle various customer types.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Maltese.

We seek to recruit a dynamic individual to join our Claims Department as a General Claims Officer. The successful candidate will be required to process claims while maintaining a high standard of professionalism with customers and ensuring timely resolution of claims.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • O-level of education or equivalent.
  • Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Be capable of working under minimal supervision.
  • Have the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English and Maltese.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.

Maintenance Person

We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance person to join our team and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities. In this role, you will be supporting our Facilities Supervisor in ensuring the safety, functionality, and upkeep of our offices. Your responsibilities will include a range of maintenance tasks, from basic electrical and plumbing works to general facility maintenance.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform various maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing and electrical works, panelling, tiling, and painting when necessary.
  • Assembling/dismantling and repositioning of office furniture.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as required.
  • Report any safety concerns or potential damage.
  • Coordinate and assist in special projects as directed.
  • Monitor work performed by outside contractors and ensure quality standards.
  • Run errands as necessary using a company vehicle.

 

Skills and Requirements

  • A valid driving license. 
  • Be organised, practical and trustworthy.
  • Capable of working efficiently and with minimal supervision.
  • Have a strong commitment to quality and workplace safety.
  • Proficiency in English and Maltese language will be considered an asset.

 

Previous experience in a similar role and familiarity with the use of power tools will be considered an asset.
