Around 70 Vehicle Damage Repairers obtain the Quality Vehicle Repair (QVR) Certification

Malta’s new QVR (Quality Vehicle Repair) Scheme is proving to be a success following its launch earlier this year by the MIRE (Motor Insurer Repair Efficiency) Project. This innovative system is an opportunity for all local  vehicle damage repairers  namely panel beaters and paint-sprayers  to have their garages inspected and certified regularly so as to maintain their certified status or to improve it.

So far around 70 garages, situated across Malta  and Gozo, opted to participate in this QVR Scheme and were fully certified. The first batch of garages, which were inspected earlier this year, have started to receive their certification reports. The certified repairers will be identified by the QVR Sign that will be displayed in a prominent position outside their premises.  The scheme is  coordinated and managed by Project Manager Ian Clutton, who has over 35 years’ experience working in the UK in the vehicle body repair and insurance industries.

“To date this scheme has been running well and I’m pleased to note that the number of vehicle repairers joining it is continuously increasing. This shows that the QVR registered repairers are embracing MIRE’s initiative of raising the standards in vehicle repairs to a higher level. Thanks to the QVR Scheme, repairers and the insurances companies forming MIRE are striving to provide motorists with high quality vehicle repairs that ensure safety,” said Mr Clutton.

The QVR Certification Scheme is backed up by CESVIMAP an international organisation focusing its research on the latest repair methodology of vehicle accident damage. The data obtained from this research is made available through training activities, publications and multimedia content.

Mr Clutton stated that informative seminars will be organised again in the near future for interested garage owners to join this advantageous scheme. He also highlighted the fact that inspection sessions are being organised on an annual basis. The next phase of the scheme will be extended to the vehicle parts supply chains; these would be followed by Accident Repair Mechanics.

The Insurance companies that form part of the MIRE project will, as of November 2016, be guiding customers to use the QVR certified repairers that are most suitable to repair their type of vehicle according to the extent of damage sustained, ensuring the vehicle is safely reinstated to its pre-accident condition. From January 2017, the said insurers will only use QVR Certified repairers to undertake Insurance-funded accident repairs.

MIRE consists of the top four insurance companies in Malta (Atlas, Elmo, GasanMamo and Mapfre Middlesea) and is set to attract more insurers. Those interested to know more about the QVR Scheme can call on 21242640 or 21248388 or send an e-mail to info@qvr.com.mt

Stqarrija ghall-istampa: Madwar 70 garaxxijiet tat-tiswija tal-vetturi kisbu

ċ-ċertifikazzjoni QVR

L-iskema l-ġdida f’Malta ta’ QVR (Quality Vehicle Repair) qed tkun suċċess wara li saret it-tnedija tagħha aktar kmieni din is-sena fi hdan il-Progett MIRE (Motor Insurer Repair Efficiency Project). Din is-sistema innovattiva hija opportunità, għal dawk kollha li lokalment huma responsabbli mit-tiswija tal-vetturi, l-aktar il-panel beaters u l-paint sprayers, li jkollhom il-garaxxijiet tagħhom spezzjonati u ċertifikati regolarment biex iżommu l-klassifikazzjoni tagħhom jew iżidu l-grad tagħhom.

S’issa madwar 70 garaxx madwar Malta u Għawdex, għażlu li jiehdu sehem f’din l-iskema QVR u kienu ċertifikati skond il-livell rispettiv taghhom. L-ewwel  numru ta’ garaxxijiet li kienu spezzjonati aktar kmieni din is-sena bdew jircievu r-rapporti tagħhom taċ-ċertifikazzjoni li nghatat lilhom. L-iskema hija koordinata u mmexxija minn Ian Clutton, il-Maniġer tal-Proġett, li għandu aktar minn 35 sena esperjenza  fit-tiswija tal-vetturi  u fl-industrija tal-assigurazzjoni fir-Renju Unit.

“Sal-lum din l-iskema qed timxi tajjeb u ninsab kuntent  li n-numru ta’ garaxxijiet li ssieħbu f’din l-iskema qed jiżdied kontinwament. Dan juri li dawk li jinsabu f’dan il-qasam u għandhom  certifikazzjoni QVR qed jaħtfu l-inizjattiva ta’ MIRE biex ikattru l-livell ta’ tiswija taghhom. Grazzi għal din l-iskema QVR, dawk li jsewwu l-vetturi u l-kumpaniji tal-assigurazzjoni li jiffurmaw parti minn MIRE, qed jagħmlu l-ahjar tagħhom biex  jagħtu lill-konsumatur kwalità għolja ta’ tiswija tal-vettura waqt li jiżguraw is-sigurtà taghha,” qal Clutton.

Iċ-Ċertifikazzjoni tal-Iskema QVR hija mmexxija minn CESVIMAP, Ċentru internazzjonali li jiffoka r-riċerka tiegħu fuq l-aħħar metodoloġija fit-tiswija ta’ vetturi  wara inċident. It-taghrif miksub minn din ir-riċerka  jista’ jinkiseb permezz ta’ taħriġ, pubblikazzjonijiet u kontenut multimedjali.

Clutton stqarr li fil-futur qarib se jiġu organizzati mill-gdid laqghat ta’ taghrif għal sidien ta’ garaxxijiet interessati biex jingħaqdu f’din l-iskema vantaġġuża. Huwa sahaq ukoll li s-sessjonijiet ta’ spezzjoni qed jiġu organizzati fuq bażi annwali.Il-fażi li jmiss tal-iskema se tkun estiża ghal dawk li jipprovdu l-partijiet tal-vetturi u tkun segwita mill-garaxxijiet li jaghmlu xoghol mekkaniku fuq vetturi.

Il-kumpaniji tal-assigurazzjoni li jagħmlu parti mill-proġett MIRE, sa minn Novemmbru 2016, se jkunu qed jiggwidaw il-klijenti biex jużaw garaxxijiet li għandhom ċertifikazzjoni QVR, u dan skond it-tip tal-vettura tagħhom kif ukoll l-ammont ta’ ħsara mgarrba; b’hekk jigi zgurat li l-vettura titqieghed fl-istess kundizzjoni kif kienet’ qabel l-inċident. Minn Jannar 2017 l-istess assiguraturi se jkun qed jużaw biss garaxxijiet li huma ċertifikati taht l-iskema QVR biex iwettqu tiswijiet li jkunu mhallsa minnhom.

Ikl-progett MIRE huwa maghmul mill-akbar erba’ kumpaniji ta’ assigurazzjoni f’Malta (Atlas, Elmo, GasanMamo u Mapfre Middlesea); huwa mistenni li aktar assiguraturi jinghaqdu f’dan il-progett. Dawk interessati li jiksbu aktar taghrif dwar l-iSkema QVR jistgħu jċemplu fuq 21232640 jew 21248388 jew jibagħtu e-mail fl-indirizz  info@qvr.com.mt.
